As we approach the Thanksgiving season, many of us hear this phrase and some of us even put it into action. People donate blankets, food and even serve at some of the homeless shelters. But one Homemaster Team Member, is taking this quote from Jesus found in Matthew 25:40 on as her mission for the next 11 months. This past January, Crystal Avery, a devoted and integral part of the team at Homemaster had a life changing experience after attending WinterJam, a Christian concert in Atlanta. On the way home she and her Aunt discussed her interest in mission trips. Within hours of this conversation, she was contacted by The World Race after they saw a recent post on Instagram where she expressed a desire to see the world, meet new people and experience different cultures.
The World Race is an 11-month, 11-country journey in which participants discover the power of God to change lives, as they minster and serve around the world. Crystal felt led to apply for this unique and challenging mission trip and was soon accepted as a racer for one of the January 2015 routes which will include Thailand and Cambodia where they will work with girls in sex trafficking. During the World Race, Crystal will live and work with a team of seven people, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. She is responsible for raising all of the funds for her trip which totals a little over $16,000 and has currently raised about 31% of her total goal.

Crystal will be leaving Homemaster on December 1st to spend time with her family and complete her fundraising before heading out on this incredible journey. We would like to take this opportunity to say “Thank You” to her for all she has done for us at Homemaster and no matter where she goes she will always be family to us! It has been an honor to have her serve here with us and now it is an honor to send her out to make a difference in the world!
